Concert Excerpt Videos
Please remember, video excerpts are due soon. The specific requirements, which have been posted in the Orchestra Room, are now also available below. Of use in your practice, an online metronome and of course, reference recordings for both the Symphony and Concert orchestras.
Here's the schedule for this week:
- Tuesday, November 13th - Violin I, Violin II, Viola, and Bass coaching sessions with Ms. Chilton, Ms. Hain, Ms. Terbetski, and Mr. Herman.
- Wednesday November 14th - Cello coaching with Ms. Yan.
- Thursday November 15th - The United Kingdom's own Philharmonia Orchestra will be performing at Copley Symphony Hall under the direction of Esa-Pekka Salonen. The concert is at 8:00pm and we will meet here at school at 6:30pm in order to carpool. Take a look: Orchestra Bio,Program Notes, Conductor Bio. They will be performing Gustav Mahler's 9th Symphony. Students must have a permission slip signed to attend.
- Thursday, November 15th - The Passione String Quartet featuring two of our own string coaches are presenting a quartet concert featuring the works of Dvorak and Haydn. Here's the Facebook event invitation. If you're not headed to Copley that evening, head to Cuyamaca College for an evening of string quartets.
- Friday, November 16th - The woodwind faculty from Northern Arizona University's School of Music will be on campus during 5th period to visit a number of our students. They will be performing for us, and will offer information regarding the music program at NAU (Flagstaff, AZ).
- Saturday, November 17th - Quartet Nouveau presents a concert at the University of San Diego. Literature will include works by Schumann, Shostakovich, and Haydn. Here's a link to the Facebook invite.
