Performance Assignments
The next round of performance assessments have been posted below. A digital copy of the assignment is available here. In an effort to support students, different performance assignments have been designed based on the needs of the students in each ensemble, and the relative experience of the ensemble as a whole.

Dudley's Bread
All Dudley's Bread & Pie fundraising forms and orders are due on Tuesday, October 22nd. Made locally in Julian, Dudley's baked goods are delicious, and will keep well frozen as we approach Thanksgiving. All orders will be delivered to school on November 14th, just in time for the upcoming holiday.
So, please take a minute and support our orchestras by purchasing some delicious items. Here is the order form and information.

Visiting Instructors
Professor of Viola and Coordinator of the String Program at San Diego State University, Mr. Travis Maril, will be on campus Tuesday the 22nd working with a number of our orchestras.
Mr. Maril is a fine teacher who, in addition to fulfilling his responsibilities at San Diego State, plays regularly in chamber ensembles and with the San Diego Symphony. He holds degrees from the University of Southern California's Thornton School of Music and Rice University's Shepherd School of Music (as does Jory Herman, our regular bass coach and San Diego Symphony bassist).

Accompanying Mr. Maril will be Ms. Carina Voly, who work in collaboration with Travis as they run the San Diego State University String Academy, a pre-college string preparatory program for students age 6-18.

Ms. Voly, holds degrees from the Jerusalem Rubin Academy of Music and Dance (Israel) and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Additionally, she has been influenced heavily by the teaching of Mimi Zweig, who s notable for her work through Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music.
Carina also maintains an active cello studio.

All About Music | San Diego
A relatively new youth orchestra, All About Music San Diego, has moved locations and is now rehearsing directly across the street from Mira Mesa High School! Their music director, Ms. Mary Gerard, was kind enough to visit our school this past Friday to extend them an invitation to join.
For students who are interested, feel free to attend any one of their Saturday rehearsals at the Epicentre. Rehearsals each Saturday morning are from 9:00 - 12:00.

- Cherrydale – Please make sure orders go home on Monday if they did not go home this past Friday
- String Coaching - String coaching during Symphony and Concert Orchestra during class on Monday.
- Monday Rehearsal - Regular Monday rehearsal will take place from 4:30 - 6:30 PM for our top strings.
- Dudley's Bread - Orders are due on Tuesday. Donations are also gladly accepted with the orders. Items will be delivered on November 14th, just in time for the holiday.
- Visiting Pedagogues - Mr. Maril and Ms. Voly will be com campus Tuesday to work with out students.
- Quality Control Checks - We will begin checking some individual sections this week in our Symphony Orchestra to help support our students. Section leaders will be first up on our list. Check this page again for updates as to what excerpts are required.
- Concert Orchestra Sectionals - Will be scheduled shortly. We need to meet in individual sections to help support everyone as we work towards learning our musical material.
