There are a significant number opportunities on the immediate horizon. With that in mind, here is a more detailed look ahead to the next two weeks, which contain an incredible variety of opportunities for all students.

For the week of April 21-27:
- Monday, April 21st - String Coaching in class; Symphony Orchestra Winds Rehearsal (2:30 - 4:15); Symphony Orchestra Rehearsal (4:30 - 6:30)
- Tuesday, April 22nd - Break of Reality Rehearsal (4:30 - 6:30)
- Wednesday, April 23rd - Auditions for the 2014 - 2015 Symphony Orchestra for current Mira Mesa High School Concert Orchestra students (after school)
- Thursday, April 24th - Auditions for the 2014 - 2015 Symphony Orchestra for incoming 9th grade students from Wangenheim Middle School at 2:15 pm (at Wangenheim Middle School)
- Friday, April 25th - 12-Week grades close (any Performance Make Up Assignments are due by this date); Auditions for the 2014 - 2015 Symphony Orchestra for incoming 9th grade students from Challenger Middle School at 7:45 am (at Challenger Middle School); San Diego Youth Philharmonic Concert at 7:30 pm at the Rancho Bernardo Presbyterian Church (Mira Mesa students may contact Youth Philharmonic Board President, and our violin coach Ms. Eicher for a complimentary student ticket - all others are $15)
- Saturday, April 26th - The San Diego State University Symphony Orchestra will be performing a concert in collaboration with the choral program at the College Avenue Baptist Church (the concert begins at 7:30 pm and admission is $5)
- Sunday, April 27th - Quartet Nouveau concert at the Hope United Methodist Church, located at 16650 Bernardo Heights Parkway (map) - great selections planned (free admission)!
For the week of April 28 - May 3:

- Tuesday, April 29th - Auditions for the 2014 - 2015 Symphony Orchestra for current Mira Mesa High School Concert Orchestra students (after school)
- Wednesday, April 30th - Auditions for the 2014 - 2015 Symphony Orchestra for current Mira Mesa High School Concert Orchestra students (after school); Jory Herman Solo Recital at the La Jolla Community Church, located at 4377 Eastgate Mall (free admission - recital begins at 7:30 pm)
- Thursday, May 1st - Break of Reality Rehearsal (4:30 - 6:30)
- Friday, May 2nd - Break of Reality residency during 2nd period; Break of Reality concert at Mira Mesa High School (6:30 pm, free admission, donations to be invited to support our students and orchestra program); reserve your free seats here
- Saturday, May 3rd - String Bass Master Class with Diana Gannett, Professor Emeritus of Double Bass at the University of Michigan (BMus, University of Iowa; M.M. and DMA, Yale University) - this event will be held at San Diego State University's School of Music in Room M113 (I am unable to attend as I will be judging at the CMEA Festival hosted by Wangenheim Middle School this day); Quartet Nouveau Concert at 7:30 pm at the Christ Lutheran Church (free admission, map)
