Spring Break
I hope everyone is off to an enjoyable and relaxing spring break. I appreciate all of the hard work our students put in over the first few months of 2014, so I hope that you are all enjoying some well deserved time off.

Congratulations
I want to take a minute and congratulate all of our string students for their fine performances throughout the month of March. From Honor Orchestra at Symphony Hall, to Festival Concerts at Mira Mesa High School, and right on through to festival performances at Chula Vista High School and Ramona High School, our students performed extremely well.
I am proud of the progress each of the groups has made in the first few months of 2014, and am looking forward to digging into some new repertoire as we move towards May (Break of Reality Concert, Cluster Concert, and our annual Spring Concert).
Again, congratulations to all our students for job well done!

Audition Materials
As we move towards the final portion of the school year, we will be holding auditions for the 2014-2015 Symphony Orchestra.
Here are a few quick notes on auditions and the articulation process:
- Current Symphony Students - Students already in Symphony Orchestra need not re-audition. We will, however, hear some scales before the year comes to a close.
- Prospective Symphony Students - Students wishing to earn a place in our Symphony Orchestra will need to audition during month of April. Audition materials have been posted below so that interested students may access the materials. As a general rule, we will accept as many students as are qualified, keeping in mind overall ensemble balance.
- Concert Orchestra (Intermediate) - As a reminder, no audition is required to enroll (or re-enroll) in our intermediate orchestra.
If you have any questions about the audition process and/or articulation in general, please do not hesitate to contact Mr. Mulvaney.
