First Semester Finals | Closing Out
Thank you to all of our orchestra students who shared their playing over the course of the past two weeks! I always learn a lot from listening to these auditions/assessments, and it is my genuine intent to use the information gathered to help our ensembles.
I would strongly encourage all students to stop by the orchestra room during lunch or after school in order to review their audition.
The whole purpose of these evaluations is to take a look at each individual student's playing and offer some observations. I look forward to sharing all of the audition notes with each and every orchestra student. In addition, our string coaches were provided digital copies of each student's completed audition rubric so that they may use the information to guide their own work and instruction.

Clearfield High School (Utah) Clearfield High School | Orchestra Exchange
On Wednesday, January 28th, we will be hosting the Clearfield High School Orchestra and their director, Ms. Edgel, in an orchestra exchange. The exchange will take place during second period, and will provide our students the opportunity to hear another high school ensemble, perform for a group of their peers, and meet and engage with students who share a common interest (music/orchestra).
Obviously we have just begun preparing our musical selections for second semester, so this will give our Symphony Orchestra students a great chance to jump right into the new material.

The rehearsal schedule for our Symphony Orchestra students (Monday afternoons) and Concert Orchestra musicians (Wednesdays as noted) have been placed on the board in the orchestra room for the reference of all of our students. Please take note of these days as we need to take advantage of these music making opportunities as we prepare for upcoming musical performances.

Mira Mesa High School's production of Thoroughly Modern Millie is fast approaching. Students from all programs within the Performing Arts Department work collaboratively in order to make our school musical's an annual success.
