London Symphony Orchestra | Michael Tilson Thomas
As part of our ongoing educational partnership with the La Jolla Music Society, we have secured 30 tickets to this Sunday's London Symphony Orchestra performance under the direction of San Francisco Symphony Musical Director Michael Tilson Thomas.
We will be organizing a carpool to the event on Sunday evening. Thank you to all those parents who help coordinate these activities for our musicians!

A Busy March
March has proven itself to be (again) a very eventful month. This month alone our students have organized, participated in, or prepared for, a variety of musical activities.
This month alone our musicians have: put in consistent work preparing for their upcoming trip to Seattle, auditioned for the San Diego Unified School District Honor Orchestra, performed in a double header Pre-Festival Concert in collaboration with our Mira Mesa Bands, hosted an additional orchestra exchange with a school orchestra from Utah, participated in the SCSBOA Orchestra Festival held here at Mira Mesa High School, hosted the SCSBOA Band Festival the following day, performed at the Taste of Mira Mesa (a string quartet), begun Honor Orchestra rehearsals, are about to perform in their Seattle Send-Off Concert (on March 26th), will attend a London Symphony Orchestra Concert on March 29th, and will then - on the final day of March, board a plane to Seattle to collaborate with the Garfield High School Orchestras and the University of Washington.
Kudos & Congratulations
Festival Performances - Congratulations to both our Concert Orchestra and our String Orchestra for their fine festival performances. Both groups performed very well and should be incredibly proud of their performances. I was tremendously pleased with each ensemble and am looking forward to build on their recent successes as we introduce new challenges this spring. Truthfully, the String Orchestra performance was really outstanding and showed tremendous integrity given the challenges of the day!
Honor Orchestra - Again, Mira Mesa will be well-represented at Symphony Hall. Congratulations to violinists Jeric Baga, Kendrake Tsui, Amy Songvilay, Betsy Podsiadlo, Madeline Do, Kayla Iniguez, and Christina Hilley, violists Allison Huynh, Laura Tafolla, and Raven Tomas, cellists Melina Diaz and Patrick Hizon, and bassists Angela Molina, Jolyne Duong, and Adam Guzzardo.
Come on out and enjoy what is sure to be a fine concert on Sunday, April 12th (2:00 PM, free admission). The concert is held, as always, at Symphony Hall.
