Seattle, Washington
Over Spring Break, members of our Symphony Orchestra traveled to the Pacific Northwest to visit Seattle, Washington. The trip included the expected stops at a number of traditional Seattle landmarks, an orchestra clinic at the University of Washington, and also featured a tremendous musical opportunity - an orchestra exchange with the fine students of the Garfield High School Orchestra.
The orchestra exchange featured combined morning rehearsal, a shared dinner in advance of the concert, performances by our Mira Mesa Orchestra and two Garfield Orchestras, and was capped off by a joint performance of the Finale (Movement IV) from Tchaikovsky's incredible Symphony No. 5!
Many thanks to our chaperones (Ms. Guzzardo and Mr. Mariscal), families, and supporters for making this trip possible for our student-musicians! Truly, without the collective efforts of many families and individuals this trip would not have been possible.
