Concert Notes
Our Winter Concert will be held at Wangenheim Middle School due to the ongoing construction in our auditorium The good news? New concert shells (take a look!) should be arrive this week and will be ready in the spring for us all! As a reminder, the concert will be on December 13th at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $7 and benefit you, the students of the program.
Band Notes
Congratulations to the Sapphire Sound on their fine performance last night. In case you missed it, the band took home a Silver Medal at Championships, tying our school's highest-ever finish. In addition, our fantastic color guard took home 1st place overall! I am very proud of our band students, and very happy for Mrs. Christensen and all the band staff.
Good things happen when groups of individuals make a commitment to one another. Congratulations Sapphire Sound!
Here's the quick version of this week's schedule:
- Coaching - Coaching in class for both Symphony and Concert (two left before the concert)
- Rehearsal - Periods 2, 3, and the Orchestra Winds/Percussion have rehearsal from 4:00 - 6:00. Details below.
- Mira Mesa Town Council Performance - We will be heading across the street tomorrow following rehearsal to perform for the council. We will play at 6:45 pm, then watch Madrigals as they sing a few tunes, and then walk back. You are welcome to stay for pizza if you like. Feel free to bring in anything else (snacks, drinks, etc) you would like to share.
- Council Meeting - Council meeting at lunch, per the usual. If you are on council, it is important you attend.
- All-Southern Auditions - Friday night at Ranch Bernardo High School. I do not believe we have anyone auditioning, but I want you to know when these things take place as I would love to see us involved in the future.
- SDUSD Honor Orchestra - Let's take over... Remember to fill out the online request for an audition at some point. And yes, this will be the final exam material for Period 3.
Rehearsal Schedule for Monday
- 3:45 pm - Find seats and begin tuning and warm up (on your own).
- 4:00 pm - Lullaby (Hofeldt)
- 4:35 pm - Dance of the Tumblers (Rimsky-Korsakov)
- 5:00 pm - Divertimento (Mozart)
