- Hooded Sweatshirt - black sweatshirt with our orchestra logo
- Polo Shirt - black, short-sleeved, performance fabric
- Women's Polo - black, short-sleeved, women's fit, performance attitre
San Diego Unified School District Honor Orchestra
Auditions for the 2016 San Diego Unified School District Honor Orchestra will be held on Tuesday, February 9th at Serra High School, from 5:00 - 9:00 PM. Mira Mesa High School is always well represented in this group and I hope to see that continue this year!
Maestro Sameer Patel, the Assistant Conductor of the San Diego Symphony, will be conducting the ensemble this year. He has a great musical program selected for our students and is excited to get to work with everyone!

I want to encourage participation in this annual event. Our musicians consistently enjoy themselves, learn a lot, and enjoy performing fantastic literature in a beautiful performance hall (Symphony Hall). Go for it!

Mira Mesa Foundation | Thank You
On behalf of all of our orchestra students, I want to express my sincere thanks to the Mira Mesa High School Foundation and its President, Ms. Bazzo. The Foundation choose to support our students this year by helping us address some instrument maintenance and storage needs. The Foundation provided for our program six sets of bass strings, 10 sets of violin strings, two sets of viola strings, a six-unit cello rack, and a four-unit bass rack.

Congratulations to Ms. Christensen!
Lastly, I want to extend my sincere congratulations to my good friend and colleague, Ms. Christensen. Ms. C, who leads our Mira Mesa Bands, has been recognized multiple times this year for her efforts and accomplishments. Most recently, she was named 'Teacher of the Year' here at Mira Mesa High School. Previous to that, she received word that she is being recognized by the California Music Education Association as their Band Educator of the Year (for the entire state)!
Ms. C will be recognized at the upcoming All-State Music Education conference in San Jose. Again, congratulations to Ms. C, who works day in and day out to serve our Mira Mesa musicians. Congrats!
