Boston Pops Orchestra
Many thanks to the La Jolla Music Society for again choosing to partner with us here at Mira Mesa High School. The La Jolla Music Society has been a consistent partner in education for us here at Mira Mesa High School, they have once again stepped to the plate to offer incredible opportunities to our students.
First up this year is the performance of the Boston Pops Orchestra, under the direction of Keith Lockhart. You can read more about this performance here, or take a look at the preview by the San Diego Union Tribune.
The timeline for the event on Wednesday, November 20th has been attached below.
Thank you in advance to our parent chaperones!

Orchestra Parent Meeting
We will be holding an orchestra parents meeting on Thursday, November 21st, at 7:00 PM in the orchestra room (Room 405). I would like to encourage all Orchestra 3,4 parents (Concert and Symphony Orchestra) to be in attendance so that we may effectively cover a number of topics. Orchestra 1,2 parents (Debut Strings) are obviously welcome to attend as well.
On the agenda for the meeting: our continued fundraising efforts, information on our annual winter concert, and an opportunity for our intermediate and advanced students to perform at Disneyland's California Adventure on Sunday, January 19th.
While I am more than happy to put in the time and effort on behalf of our students, your support is absolutely essential, and only helps us as we continue to make available to our students quality educational resources and opportunities.
Odds & Ends
A few random notes to bring our update to a close:

Odds & Ends
A few random notes to bring our update to a close:
- Coffee fundraisers are due on Wednesday, November 20th.
- The pizza party for our Cherrydale fundraising students will take place during lunch on Thursday, November 21st.
- Our November/December performance requirements for our Symphony Orchestra students has been posted below. Principal stands may pass off this week with Mr. Mulvaney, and all others are due to pass off with section leaders by Friday, December 6th.
- I would like to thank our school site administration and the Mira Mesa High School Foundation for choosing to support our program. Specifically, our site administration has been kind enough to allocate $3,000 to replace some of our aging strings (and purchase a new cello rack). If you would like to extend a note of thanks on behalf of our orchestra community, feel free to email Principal Giusti and let him know you appreciate the support!
