Rose Parade | Congratulations!
Before going any further, congratulations to our own Mira Mesa High School Sapphire Sound and Ms. Christensen! The Sapphire Sound performed in the 127th Annual Rose Parade and represented Mira Mesa (and Southern California) extremely well. Truly, I could not be happier for the members of our Sapphire Sound, Ms. Christensen, the band/guard parents, and the community of Mira Mesa.

Recently, we were able to secure a MIDI Studio Controller at little to no cost to our program. I look forward to using this equipment in the future as we look to provide unique musical opportunities. Specifically, I would like to thank our San Diego Unified School District Superintendent, who helped fund this project!

However, you can place your own orders anytime by enrolling online (and get digital cards immediately, or reload spent cards). It's easy to do (as I use it all the time for gas, Amazon, Home Depot, etc)! Please feel free to email me with any questions.

Semester One | Final Exam (Auditions)
All of our orchestra students will soon be performing their final exams for the first semester. The packet for our Symphony and Concert Orchestras has been attached below. Auditions begin next week with basses, celli, and violas. Violins will audition the following week.
Please prepare well for your auditions! You want to show what you can do!

A few other quick notes to keep in mind:
- Orchestra gear is coming soon (finally)! Look for an order form for Mira Mesa Orchestra hoodies and polos to be out soon!
- SDUSD Honor Orchestra auditions will be held on Tuesday, February 9th at Serra High School. This is a great opportunity for our musicians and one that I hope many will pursue. All information, including the online audition request form, are available here.
- The musical (Mary Poppins) is coming! We will again be assembling a pit orchestra and working with our entire VAPA Department at Mira Mesa to put on a great show.
- Our musicians all have new music and there are a multitude of resources that have been made available to them here! Please use your resources to your advantage!
