Thanks for making a difference! We had a wonderful tournament thanks to the many volunteers. Many worked multiple shifts or even all day to cover all of the areas that are needed to make this event a success.
On behalf of the Tournament Chairs, a HUGE thank you to each of you!
On behalf not only myself, but also Ms. Christensen and of all the students associated with our Mira Mesa Bands & Guard, thank you!
All-Southern Orchestra | Applications Postmarks
The Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association sponsors a fabulous honor orchestra each year. The SCSBOA Honor Orchestra rivals All-State in caliber and is comprised of the best players in the Southern portion of the state.
Auditions will be held on Saturday, December 12th at Tesoro High School.
This information has been readily available all fall via our Honor Ensembles page. For application documents, required excerpts, and information, please visit the SCSBOA Honor Ensemble website.

November 9-13
- Monday - Symphony Orchestra rehearsal, 4:30 - 6:30 pm.
- Tuesday - Sectionals for Concert Orchestra after school at 2:30 pm. There will be no formal rehearsal as there are multiple performing arts events scheduled for this day (band tournament, fall play run through rehearsal, etc).
- Wednesday - No School... Take some time to express appreciation for our veterans - then practice!
- Thursday - Israel Philharmonic Orchestra Concert at 8:00 pm (details below); also on Thursday there will be a special showing of our Mira Mesa Theatre Fall Play, Radium Girls, in the afternoon. Tickets to this event are $5 at the door. Again, this performance is being staged specifically so that students from our performing arts department may attend. There will also be a show later in the evening (7:00 pm).
- Friday - If you are free, come on our and support our fabulous theatre program as they present their fall play, Radium Girls. The show on Friday is at 7:00 pm and tickets may be purchased at www.miramesatheatre.org.
- Saturday - SCSBOA All-Southern applications MUST be postmarked by this day.
Israel Philharmonic
The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of Conductor and Musical Director Zubin Mehta, will be performing on Thursday, November 12th at the CIVIC THEATER. This concert is being brought to San Diego by the La Jolla Music Society as part of their Celebrity Orchestra Series. We are very fortunate at Mira Mesa to have a working relationship with the La Jolla Music Society, and as a result, we have been provided 30 tickets to this event. More information on this concert is available via the La Jolla Music Soceity website.
