Congratulations!
Congratulations to all of the orchestra and band students who were accepted into the 2012 San Diego Unified School District Honor Orchestra & Band! With 44 accepted musicians between the band and orchestra, Mira Mesa has more than twice the representation of any other school in our district. All rehearsals will be held at Mira Mesa High School. The concert will take place at beautiful Copley Symphony Hall on February 25th at 7pm, and admission is free.

Our 12 orchestra representatives are the most Mira Mesa has had even in the SDUSD Honor Orchestra (that does not even include the nine crossover band musicians who also have been selected as orchestra wind and percussion musicians). Congratulations to everyone!
Chicago Symphony Orchestra
The world famous Chicago Symphony Orchestra is coming to town. You can read a bit on them here, on the La Jolla Music Society's website. The Mira Mesa Orchestra Program will be providing free tickets to interested students. We will be carpooling from MMHS on the evening of the concert (Feb. 19). Interested chaperones can shoot me an email to express interest. :)

Narek Hakhnazaryan, Cello
2011 Tchaikovsky International Music Competition winner on cello will be at MMHS for a one time only performance. The concert and discussion will take place on Friday, March 16th. Read about him here.
